Refugio is being an active HAREP member since she started her career in the Real Estate Industry in 1996 as HAREP Down Payment Assistance Program Coordinator and as the only employee HAREP ever had. Has served on the Executive Board for several years same as for a diverse chair committees, served as President on 2023; worked at CPLC with the NSP2, NSP3 Home Buying Assistant Programs and have experience with other home buying assistance programs such Section 32, Land Trust, Lift, WISH and others. Has volunteered in presentations for the AZ Fair Housing Center. Volunteer and Advocated for the community thru several Non-Profit Pro Community Organizations regarding Housing, Immigration issues, and civil engagement. Has also being an activist during the SB1070 fighting Anti-Immigration laws, and continuing advocating for those unable to speak for themselves.
